Description:

RAPHEX is an annual practice exam in radiation physics, intended for residents in diagnostic and therapeutic radiology program. It is written by members of RAMPS, the New York chapter of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM). The exam consists of three sections - general, diagnostic, and therapy - with about 100 questions in each section. The exam is accompanied by an answer booklet that gives a brief explanation of each answer. Residents in radiation therapy take only the the general and therapy portions of the exam; residents in diagnostic radiology take only the general and diagnostic portions of the exam. 1. Residents can purchase copies of the exam for self study. 2. A proctor, usually the physics instructor, can give RAPHEX under exam conditions. Also available the RAPHEX 1995, and a compilation of RAPHEX questions and answers from 1984-1994. This is available in two volumes:Vol.1, for therapy residents; and Vol.2, for diagnostic residents. Both include the general section of the the exams. These are recommended for use as self-study guides. For more information on these two volumes see the RAPHEX Compilation Vol. 1 (Therapy) RAPHEX Compilation Vol. 1 or Raphex Compilation Vol. 2 (Diagnostic Radiology) RAPHEX Compilation Vol. 2
